Chemist I – Finished Product Lab

Pay: $25/hour
Schedule: 3rd Shift | Sunday–Thursday | 10:00 PM–6:30 AM

Position Overview

We are seeking a Chemist I to join the Quality Services (QS) team in the Finished Product Lab. This position will support product testing, quality documentation, raw material sampling, and timely release of products and components while ensuring compliance with GMP and safety requirements.

This is a great opportunity for an entry-level Chemist or recent Science graduate with laboratory experience who is looking to build experience in a quality-focused manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do

• Perform testing of bulk products, finished products, and packaging materials while maintaining GMP compliance.
• Accurately document and enter testing results into SAP.
• Report out-of-specification (OOS) results to the QS Leader or designee and Production, communicating with suppliers when necessary.
• Release bulk products in SAP when appropriate and within required timelines.
• Review production documentation to ensure compliance with established requirements.
• Support Quality and Manufacturing initiatives, including product testing for process improvements and other planned requests.
• Follow all GMP and safety requirements, including written procedures and applicable SDS guidelines.
• Maintain laboratory instruments in good working condition.
• Ensure the laboratory remains clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
• Maintain product retains as required.
• Provide coverage for other laboratory areas, including the Raw Materials Lab, as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, preferably Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Entry-level candidates are welcome; undergraduate laboratory experience is acceptable.
• 0–2 years of quality or laboratory experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of pH and viscosity testing.
• Familiarity with Gas Chromatography (GC) and wet chemistry/analytical techniques is a plus.
• Experience in an FDA-regulated environment, such as personal care, OTC pharmaceuticals, or contract testing, is preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize responsibilities in a laboratory environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with SAP is a plus.
